Weekend is here! What plans?

Me have to attend a wedding and going to stay over at moms for a few days. Sometimes it feels so nice to just sleep in late while I know that mom will take care of kiddo. Aah bliss!!

And when I she keeps him for the afternoon.. Double bliss!! I get to do a mani!! Yay!

I sometimes find hello kitty too cute and way too girly for my liking but I wanted to a girly mani and nothing else was coming to my head. So hoped u liked this one?

Darling Diva's: Channeling Coco

Today I have for you: Darling Diva's Channeling Coco!

Isnt it such a darling!!! Cotton candy encrusted with magical gems!

Layered over a light pastel pink polish as I found DD's Channeling Coco a bit sheer.

Thats 2 coats and some fishing of glitter. Applied smooth. Dried in 5 mins.

Now the glitter is meant to be sparse..thats the beauty of the polish..but I found I wasnt getting as much as I'd like..so I had to fish out a bit.

If you are looking for a polish that does not go over the top with glitter..but just a tiny bit of classy sprinkling of glitter...This one is for you! ♥ ♥ ♥

Contains: Big Pink glitter and small black hexes. I really love how the black glitter shows through.

Brocade Nail Art

Hello Gals!!

(wondering if I do have any male followers except my hubby and bro who I forced to follow my blog?)

Today I have a really pretty mani to show ya!

The base is ChG Magnetix: Positively in Love

I was trying to magnetize it but I ended up touching the magnet into my nails for some reason on almost every nail!!! Ughh! so I thot maybe i'd try that when I have short nails. So I added another base on the half magnetized base so smoothen out the magnetic effect.  I love the jewel toned shade of the base.

I added some bindi stickers for more glam

I think there arent enough plates which have a brocade or baroque designs. I wish I had more choice in these kinds of designs, u know the designs with creeper, leaves etc which allow enough of the base to show through. This also looks very indian to me and is quite apt for weddings/functions.

I loved how this design turned out ♥♥♥

I goofed up on the stamping. The previous night I was thinking I'll stamp a nice lacey design on this..and bang! next morning I picked up this new plate and made different butterflies.

*dunno why* Plus this was an untested plate and some butterflies squished out *sad*

Todays post is about as cute as cute can get!!

or as a niece calls it: Kitty Kitty!!

I got these decals to review from the born pretty store.

The best part about this nail art is its superrrr easyyyy and quick.

 Base: a Matt finish polish in bright pink (sandy finish)

They cost $4.73 and come with free shipping and one sheet has 11 different designs (see here). 

I got mine in a months time. The store has an awesome variety of nail and other make up stuff.

Just cut out the decals put them in water for about 10-20 secs..pull out the paper base. Now place them on a dry base polish and apply top coat.

Thats it you are ready to go!!

Back In December I had Won Peaches and Blush giveaway sponsored by Stylecraze.com 

Although I had won a blush and 3 orlys..most of the orlys I wanted were sold out. So Chetana (owner at Stylecraze) generously agreed to swap them for China Glaze which she had ordered to come.

China Glaze was not available in India then and Chetana tried her best to get them to India.

But..everything that could go wrong went wrong with her shipment..and she finally managed to get them in May! Promptly she sent me the list of shades available and me and my twitterati gal friends spent a whole day narrowing them down to three! Whew!! That was a hard job I tell u!! How can one choose 3 from all the fantabulous shades of China Glaze???? 

These are the three we finally selected and were promptly shipped to me. Thanks Chetana!!

First up is Tantalize Me!! It is one of the sweetest shades of pink-purple with a blue-ey pearl finish.

The bottle looked like it was duo-chrome..but doesnt show much on nails.

Opaque in 2 coats, slightly streaky..but really slightly. Lasted a good 5 days on me.

Pink Zebra + Lakme Nail Polish Purple Fix

How was ur week so far?

Mine wasnt good..as I had a bit of throat infection..though I m much better now and travelling outta town tomorrow for some days. 

On my nails today I got Purple Fix from Lakme's Fast & Fabulous range. This is a nice bright purple shade..has micro blue shimmer.

I was very hopeful as the bottle looked duo-chrome, but it a'int. Dries fast in a little above 5 mins, 2 coats: Opaque. Stayed for 3 days without chipping.

Summer Blossom Nail Art

These days I am all about pastels and pinks. No wonder then I have another pastel pink lined up.

Doesnt that name conjure up an image of turrets in the desert with a princess, Alladin and a Genie next to them! Ahh If I met the Genie I'd ask for more nail polishes! :D

Diana of London (DOL) is an International makeup brand manufactured in France and imported to India. According to the company their nail polishes are “State-of-the-art nail enamel, High-shine finish with an instant stroke of glamour, irresistible colors go on smoother and faster without chipping and streaking, set in 60 seconds, Toluene,DBP, Camphor & Formaldehyde free”. However ingredients list is not mentioned on the bottle.

Now thats one thing I appreciate: being “3 free”. That means harmful chemicals are excluded from these polishes making them friendly for your nails. Although their shade collection is a little limited with hues of pinks, reds and browns. Also finishes are limited to crèmes, pearl-ies and a few frosties.

Sigh!! How I wish Indian brands would come up with more of glitter, flakies, foils, glass flecked, matts and the ever desirable multi-chromes and holos.

Price: MRP: Rs210 for 12 ml (although available on online sites with a discount)

Jasmine (48) is a nice pastel nude-pink on my hands and quite apt for the season. Application was a bit streaky but a careful 3rd coat and it went completely opaque and smoothed it out while drying to a very nice glossy finish. I was pleasantly surprised at the glossy finish on this crème. Most of the crème finishes available locally do not have a gloss as good as this one.

You see the gloss on the pic above. That gloss remained the same even after the polish dried. The formula is slightly runny and the brush does leave some streaks. I would have been happier with a better brush. Drying time was quick for the first 2 coats (say 10 mins) however the third one took a bit more to dry.

Again I am pleasantly surprised, this polish lasted a really long time on my nails. I wanted to test this for wear and I successfully wore it for 5 full days with minimal tip wear the the end of 5th day after which I wiped it off out of an itch to change my polish. Very rarely do I leave a polish for so long.

Nail Art I did with DOL's Jasmine as the base after 2 days of wearing it plain: Hardly any tip wear.

Verdict: I 'd say DOL polishes are definitely worth the money. I'd buy other shades if I like them.

Retro Polka Dot Nail Art

Yeelllloooo! I mean Hello again

Have you ever disliked something coz you have had too much of it?

As in completely put off by it or the sudden urge to run from someplace or thing?

yes? Me too.

From Polka! As a child I had polka in and on everything. 

Yes so much so that I got sooo put off by polka design that I cant remember anything I own with Polka in the last 15 years :O

So yes this post is still a shock to me!! I got a set of QA-OB plates couple of weeks ago and it has this really pretty polka stamp on it. And I thot Y not? Lets try.

I used a light pink creme base and stamped a polka dot design on it in purple

Then between every alternate column I dotted with white.

This is what it turned out and I m pretty pleased about it.

Base: Faux OPI (similar to OPI Mod about you)

Stamping Plate: QA3

Stamping colour: Kleancolor Metallic Fuschia

White Dots: Colorbar Exclusive 37 (white), + dotting tool

It turned out very picturesque..no kidding. Infact I got asked if those were fake nails. Hehe!

I am planning to try this using some other colour combinations. Any suggestions for another one?

Inglot 720 Nail Enamel + Striping tape nail art

Now I no more enjoy this summer. Its getting waaay too hot here in Mumbai. Feels like I step out into an oven. But I am certainly having fun using these bright summer nail polishes! yum yum!

Today I am showing you Inglot's 720 Nail enamel.

The funny thing about this shade is; it wasnt written matte on the box or the bottle..and yet it is.

I was pleasantly surprised when this dried pretty fast to a matte bright coral-pink.

These days I am all in love with mattes and pastels. 

Do you like matte polishes? I loved this one..plan to make a another mani using this soon.

With this I used a light holo-green striping tape. I've kept this mani very minimal as I didnt want to cover the base much. So I've used striping tape and criss-crossed it on my ring finger for an accent.

 Added a matt top coat to seal the stripe. Simple yet chic...think so?

Got Monday Morning Blues?? Beat them!!

Got monday morning blues? I got some..actually I get many! Aarrghhhh!

I think I start getting them by sunday evening just coz I know it monday tomorrow. LOL!

I've put on this really bright and cheery mani to help me put them off. 

I have used Sally Hansen's Firm Fig for the base + Inglot Matte Top coat

Stamping plates: M69 (stamped straight and upside down on alternate fingers)

Stamping colour: Konad White

Sally Hansen's Firm Fig is sheer and the above pic took 4-5 coats to make it opaque, resulting in pillow imprints on my nails from the previous night when I applied it. 

 This is how the base looks with Inglot's Matte Top coat. (Rs. 490/-) ($10)

This is my first matte top coat and I am in Love with this effect. It also smoothened out the pillow lines :)

Dries really fast and gives a nice smooth matt look. Doesn't feel powdery.

This top coat does show little tip wear after 2 days..as you see in the mani (1st pic), the tips have a slight sheen. But one can easily re-apply top coat  every 2 days as it dries soon.

I loved the effect of this. Instead of searching for various shades in matt, I think its best to buy a matte top coat and use it on your existing polishes. 

Do you have a Matt top coat? or plan to buy one?

Spring Morning

Hi You,

Morning is not my favourite part of the day :( 

I am as someone would say "nocturnal".  I just cant Get-Up!!! However as part of a new routine I am trying to develop I attempt to get up when my alarm rings..and I can safely say it has lasted a whole 2 days. LOL!

Well I still have a vacation hangover from my trip and seem to be getting up a bit early these days I decided to attempt what I spring morning would look like. Hope you enjoy this as much.

Surprisingly this Inglot polish is a matt. I did not pick it up as a matt, as I did not read on the package when I bought this.

But after swatching this I was in love with this. Its a nice subtle pink-brown (more pink less brown) with a  matt finish. It doesn't look powdery though it does reflect a bit more light then some matts I have seen.
