Abstract texture

Hi 

I finally managed to use something that I had bought last year.

This is my first texture paint that I bought from a friends blog sale. Must say I have fallen for the trend!!! And how!! Now I need more. So who is up for a trip from US to India ?? :D

The base is chg Toe-tally textured.

Two coats. Dries fast but need to let the first coat dry. 

Stamped with Fun 2 from Fab Ur Nails using opi funky dunkey

Added a little color to accent using acrylics. 

I was quite skeptical how stamping would look over textures but it's quite cool. How did u like this mani??

Hope u r having a good year so far. Mine is going well. So far. Some near dear friends had come to town after ages and the whole lot of us got together on quite a few occasions and had a thoroughly good time. They've just left back for US and are being missed already.

My friend was nice enough to carry my new BM cyo plates for me. Yay!

Revlon Peachy+ Patterned Nail Art

Off late we have been seeing some new range of polishes in India! Hopefully companies in India are paying attention to our polish needs! (Now can OPI/ChG/SH launched their own brands here instead of giving old polish collections them to retailers)!!

Anyways....First colorbar launched a whole big range of their pro polishes and added new (and neon) ones to their existing range. Then Lakme came out with the fast and fabulous range of polishes. Colorama introduced some new shades. L'oreal came out with the Color Riche Le Vernis. This year has been very nice in terms of new polish launches.

 Now we have Revlon, out with the TOP Speed and Scented polishes.

These were launched in US/UK sometime last year. I am still miffed by we get stuff so late!

The range has some really pretty polishes and jellies or so I've heard.

I couldnt stop ogling at the pastels!!! Mint green, lilac, pink! The range contains a mix of cremes, jellies, shimmers and a couple of metallics. Next I need to get my hands on a couple of jellies!!

On my hand today is the Revlon's Peachy from the Top Speed range. It looks like a peachy-pastel orange bordering on neon. Its not really neon, but more like a bright milky orange. 

Dried  pretty fast in 2-3 mins. Brush is decent and offers smooth application.

Nice smooth creme finish, not very streaky, completely opaque in 2 coats.

I really like the new range of polishes! Cant wait to try the scented polishes next.

L'oreal Le Vernis: Midnight Mistress Swirling in Lush Tangerine: Swirls

I hope you've had a good week so far. Mine was so-so..and I have a couple of things I am looking forward to this weekend. 

Coming on to today's mani..

"At midnight the mistress swirled her Lush Tangerine drink with a long twirly cocktail stick and raised the glass to her luscious red lips." Errmmm thats how an M&B novel would sound with all these names in it. This is L'oreal's new collection of Le Vernis. If you want to read a review on these click here.

On my nails is: Midnight Mistress (pointer and ring finger) a darkened blue jelly polish that turns black at 2 coats. And Lush tangerine; a bright orange in creme finish. Both are smooth and non streaky.

Stamping plate: BM201

Stamping colours: Konad red and Konad White

Base Colour: L'oreal Le Vernis Midnight Mistress 701 and Lush Tangerine 303

I am pleasantly surprised how well this stamped. Only thing, the red didnt up as bright as I wanted it to show up on the Lush Tangerine, unless you went close. But I like the overall bright pop of colour.

Independence Day Nail Art: Indian

Its India's 65th Independence day today!!

So I did one apt for the day:

Yes the tri-colour flag with the blue chakra (wheel)

Base:

Pointer: Faux OPI (similar to OPI Atomic Orange)

Colorbar: white

Green:Sinful color Envy

I cut corner on all the nails with the adjacent nail shade so as to get an effect of a waving flag.

I freehanded the chakra in acrylic blue colour with a brush.

Topped wit SV.

I really loved the final outcome...didnt plan it out this way..but yeah it turned out very nice.

Lakmé Flaming Orange + Indian Nail Art

Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort 2012 saw the launch of the latest from the house of Lakmé, the

Lakmé Absolute Fast & Fabulous collection

30 fashion forward nail colours that speed dry in 40 seconds and with a unique flat brush that glides effortlessly over the nails and gives an immaculate finish in one stroke!

I was sent a bunch of polishes by the company for review.

 I picked Flaming Orange first as I havent done an Orange mani in a long time..hmmmm

maybe never. Here's a swatch. (2 coats)

This shade: Flaming Orange is a really bright orange with creme finish, but stops short of going neon.

As per Lakmé: One coat of these polishes set dry in 40 secs..Me: True that!

Unique flat brush covers full nail in one stroke... Me: Not necessarily

One coat dries fairly fast and I was impressed by that. However it takes 2 coats for an even opaque base and I found that it takes a bit longer for the 2nd coat to dry..say avg 5 mins. But thats still much better compared to most other Indian NPs. And in a humid climate like Mumbai, it did well.

The brushes are much wider and thicker than the average Indian polishes and better compared to Lakmè other range and older polishes (more like OPI), but I still find the bristles rough and streaky. If you are not careful and generous with the 2nd coat, it can drag down your first coat.

It lasted 4 days on me with a bit of tip wear at the end of 4th day.

Lakmé launched 30 shades in total: but I've never seen any shop stock all 30 together. However I have seen most and they are mostly cremes and a few are micro shimmer polishes.

Price: Rs.199/- for 10 ml (was Rs.175/- up until recently) :-/

Lakmé has changed the design for this new range..the bottles look chunky with a boxy silver cap.

Now thats a fresh change compared the previous small square-round bottles they have.

For my mani I used:

 Base: Lakmé Flaming Orange

Stamping Colour: Konad white

Stamping Plate: M64, Accent: M71 + black rhinestone

The paisley stamp gives this mani such an indiany look. I need more of these stamps.
