Fall Nail Art : Orange Plaid Nail Art

Hello! I am trying to be back to posting after a long break. Moved houses and kiddo appeared for 1st school exams, lots of work, tons of house warming parties and what not in between. So yeah been busy.

Starting with a fall mani today. Love these fall combos even though we dont get any fall season as such in Mumbai. The rains are thankfully over and the heat is already unbearable.

This very versatile plate (Nicole Diary L-04 #46229; link)  is from Nicole Diary brand from the Bornpretty website. This plate covers a lot of basic lines, patterns and chevrons for a very creative mani. I was looking since quite some time for a plate to make plaid designs using my own patterns and this plate helps me do just that. Most other plates already have a plaid pattern and you cannot make the plaid using different colours. The max you can do is add a couple of lines here and there on an existing basic plaid. But this gives you lots of rooms to play around with colours.

The plate sells for $3.29 and even the fine lines and images print crisp and neat.

Advanced stamping Nail art : Roses

These are the longest nails i've had in quite a while. I wanted to do a decal mani before I had to trim them a bit. Love this length but I constantly worry about breaking them or hurting kiddo.

So I made some stamping decals for this.

Stamping plate is from Born Pretty #36311 with mandala type designs in floral motifs. They show off the base colour and yet give the nail a full designed look. The whole plates is filled with design but not like a buffet style. There are distinct borders to identify each design.

This plate retails for $2.99 in a promotion going on at the moment.

I had no trouble picking up the images from this plate even during very humid conditions in the monsoon season here. 

Abstract nail art using Born Pretty BPL-054

I am back after a long break...getting my house redone consumes most of my time and energy along with a jumping bouncing toddler. I have a few unposted manis from the last 3 months but havent really had the time to even do them. Hopefully they'll be posted here sometime.

On a whim I bought this matt nail polish from an Indian brand called Nykaa. They are new entrants to the market coming up with their own range of cosmetics which is exciting to see apart of the same old repeated stuff that most of the other indian brands come out with.

Here's a mani I did with it:

Base: Nykaa Matt Milk Chocolate

Stamping plate: BPL-054

Stamping polish: MDU black and white;

filled in some lines using black and white normal polish

Top coat: HKgirl and inglot matt top coat

I love this plate from born pretty plate BPL-054 (link item no: #36312). It has lovely abstract designs that can be layers or filled with polish or make decals. The designs fit well on my nail and they also show the base polish well. I did not have any problems with stamping as the plates are etched well. 

This sells for around $2.6 which is really reasonable for a big rectangle plate.

Swatch of nykaa milk chocolate: it goes really well on my hands as a classy skin toned matt polish. 

Tribal NailArt using Born Pretty BP-X05

Today I'll be reviewing the newly released Born pretty Store square plate BP-X05 (item #29978; link)

Base: Maybelline porcelain party, Sally hansen Black heart,

Stamping polish: Essence Stampy black; Accent: Mdu Neon yellow, Mdu Neon Pink (middle finger)

Decals filled with Models won Sun hat and MO Bikini

BP-X05  (item #29978; link) is part of their newly released plate this year. It has tribal type patterns in big sizes which will cover long and broad nails completely. The patterns stamp crisp and clear. I like this plate as you can also fill in colours and make very colourful decals like I did. 

I like these type patterns that are spaced out a bit and the base also show through. As with always I find born pretty plates good in quality and this comes with a thick sticker backing. Images are well etched and come out good.

This plate retails for $1.99 which is fairly nice and affordable price.

This is 2-3 coats opaque, Dries fast.

Has a very strong scatter holo effect. Practically Dazzles in glare.

Its a N@de base full of holo flakies. (see macro below to see what holo flakies are)

Krizia Christian G Swatch and a Damask pattern

Named after the infamous Christian G. from The fifty shades of grey; it is a cool toned grey with what you might initially see as speckles of dust which are actually really minute flecks of glitter.

Base: Krizia Christian G.

Base: A gradient of Models own Pink Veneer and blueberry muffin

Topped with Krizia Mrs.Sibley

Mrs.Sibley is an anthology created by Edgar Lee Masters. Her poem goes as this:

THE SECRET of the stars,—gravitation. 

The secret of the earth,—layers of rock. 

The secret of the soil,—to receive seed. 

The secret of the seed,—the germ. 

The secret of man,—the sower. 

The secret of woman,—the soil. 

My secret: Under a mound that you shall never find. 

Well our Mrs.Sibley is secretively mysterious and made up of iridescent micro flakies in duo-chrome which shift shades from green-gold to purple-pink. Its a lovely topper and I suspect it would look even more pretty over darker shades. But I just had to try this over some lighter shades to see the effect. Check my insta feed for a video showing the change of shades in bottle.

This one did not dry fast it was sticky even after 10 mins and took maybe another 10-15 mins to get rock hard.
