Neon Tiger Print Nail Art: Using Colorbar Neons

Grrrrrr! Grrrrr!

If tigers could be fashionable every tigress would have dyed her fur like this at least once :D

Well...Colorbar finally released some Neons recently in a collection called Cocktail. Although summer's waaay over, sometimes you just need a pop of colour no matter what the season is. Thats when Neon polishes come handy.

I did search for these online but seemed online stores werent playing the catch up game very well. The only place I found these was VioletBag.com. You can see my haul post here.

I snagged Pina Colada and Lime Margarita from the Cocktail Collection. The orange, blood red and magenta-pink in this collection didnt really look like neon so I wasnt very interested in them. There is one another neon pink in this collection, but I have another similar polish so I skipped that too.

Pina Colada is sheeeeeerrrrrrr. This is 2 coats and I am certain that even 4 coats wouldnt have covered VNL (visible nail line). I tried 4 coats on the pinkie finger and VNL is still visible. But it does add a bright pop if thats what you are looking for. Maybe you could layer it over a white or a similar opaque light coloured base.

I sponged on it with Colorbar Lime Margarita (Neon green) and a Miss Claire one stroke polish in bright pink.  Lime Margarita wasnt as sheer coz it sponged on pretty well without having to add layers of the polish.

Stamped on the sponging with a tiger print plate from Bundle Monster BM223 with Konad Black.

I thought I would'nt be a fan of neons, but boy I was wrong. I am now.

It just depends on how you wear them and how you carry them. This mani grabbed a lot of attention and in a .."oohhhhhh.. thats nice!!" kind of way.

Sponging Nail Art: Using Lakme: Autumn Trend

Whew! For some strange reason google blocked my account yesterday! :O

Yes that can happen. I am not sure why but I had looged in using my hubby's pc and logged out. Again after half an hour I logged in using my pc and I got error saying my account is blocked due to some unusual activity. My only guess is google probably registered a change in IP address. So it blocked my account. Google please note that I log using whatever is at hand. My pc, His pc, My cell, His cell(s), mom's pc when I visit her..its a long list.  Please do not keep blocking for this. I had a mini heart attack yesterday when I couldnt see my blog.

*rant over* Coming on todays mani..

Sometimes I get these sudden strong urges to do sponging. And then I keep thinking about it all day and realize I just have to do it to get it out of my mind. 

I decided to use an unused polish I had. Lakme Crimson Fire from the fast and fabulous range.

I sponged using Lakme Fast and Fabulous' Popping Pink at the nail base and OPI's Funkey Dunkey at the tips. Now Popping pink blendsreally nicely into Crimson Fire. If you look closely you can see a distinct pink hue at the nail base but its very difficult to make out where it starts and where it ends.

Applied SV for top coat. 

Stamped it using: A Miss Claire Gold Polish

Stamping Plate: XL K

SV bubbled a bit :-/ But overall it was a very pleasant mani.

Instantly brightens up your hand.

Lakmé Going Green + Sponging Nail Art

Summer is in full swing and how I soooo wish I could enjoy 2 months of summer holidays like we used to as school kids. Sigghhh! And eating mangoes of all kind..which I still do.

Yellow, Orange, Golden, Green..yummmm! This polish reminds me of green tangy mangoes.

As excited as I am to review Lakmé polishes, I was impressed by their new range.

While I like these nail polishes, I wished they had more variety in colours and finishes.

But for now I am happy playing with their Fast and Fabulous range. 

I've already review them here once. 

Today I have swatched "Going Green"* from Lakmé's Fast & Fabulous range.  Rs.199/- ($4)

Below is Going Green swatched alone.

Two coats opaque, nice creme finish. Dries fast and smooth.

Its a lively bright green..reminds me of Sinful Colors Envy. If you see that post, they are pretty similar.

I sponged Colorama Black using Nailasaurus' Fantastic Sponging technique. If you are having trouble sponging or wanna learn sponging..check her post. Simple. Pretty. Effective.

 With quick drying Top coat (below).. though I liked how they looked matt after sponging.

Sponged some local big hex gold glitter polish (unbranded) on the tips

Hmm...maybe I liked it without the glitter? U?

But nonetheless I had a fun time sponging.

Blue Sponging Nail Art

Hello Fellos!

Today's post is one of the firstest things I had learnt when I started to learn about nail art.

Sponging. The other day when a friend on twitter asked for suggestion for a nice mani but something that didnt take much time. I suggested this to her. I find sponging manis have a greater stare/hard work ratio than other techniques like water marbling or free hand drawing.

So that is my cheat code! Shhhh!
