Born Pretty Overprint Plate L071

Since quite some time I had wanted to do a layered mani but didnt have a good plate. So when BPS sent me this layering plate L-071 I was quite pleased. This plate can be found by searching #45858 on the site or you can click this link. 

This plate retails for $2.99 and there are many combinations of natural leaves, trees, butterflies birds and flowers on the plate. It is very versatile in the sense you can layer 2-3 things on a nail to create depth and colour. Below I have tried a few combinations and swatched them on paper you give you an idea of how other images look like.

Indian Brocade Nail Art

Recently a few plates have caught my eye again after a dull lull in the nail art world. One of them was this Nicole Diary L-03 from the born pretty store. The main draw is layered stamping or over print as they call it. I love stamping the most and the idea of getting a few colours to go in together and come out like a print is exciting to see. I tried to recreate a design like that seen on silk Indian brocade print. Usually such brocade sarees are worn during wedding seasons. They look really beautiful.

Base used is from Nugel called Candy Apple. Slightly sheer even after 2 coats as you can see the nail line yet. The formula was like jelly but not as sheer. I guess another coat would have covered it full. Dried to touch in 10 mins. And took another 10 mins to get fully dried. The formula is self levelling and easy to apply. So far most of the polishes I've tried have a nice formula.

Quick post today. I am trying to rush to office and finish as much work as possible coz m going out-of-town on a river rafting trip in the middle of next week.. Eeeeeeehhhhhooooooo!

This one's a orange to green colour shifting flakie polish.

This is absolutely stunning in person. Remember the shiny red gift wrapping paper that has a slight holograpahic tint at edges? Thats what this was looking like.

I tried taking pics in sun but the glossy effect wasnt letting the flakies shine thru so I went back under shade.

Stamping Colour: Konad White
Plate: M2

 The base is Inglot 924: a medium tomato red shade

Ignore the mess on cuticles, I wanted to clean up after I applied the flakies.

I love love the shiny shimmery dance the flakies do on my nails!

So far I have been trying to use a base colour that is a part of  the spectrum of the flakie shine.

Once I swatch them all I'll do different bases..like blue under 203..Watsay?

Green With Envy

Hola Chickas! 

Envy!! Hmm..thats something we all feel from time to time. Envy of full blown solitaire on your neighbors finger, a new polish that your favorite blogger gets her hands on; of a job promotion you thought you deserved. (Ahem..Well that would be screaming mad!!)

Today I am showing you a polish from Sinful colors: Envy.

This one if from my Canadian Haul and the first Sinful color np that I've have.

Its a bright warm green, and I was looking forward to try this particular shade even though green is not a color I am fond of. It applies smooth, has a nice bright undertone. 

The problem with this green was I could not find find any stamping colour that would show up on this.

I tried white, silver but they didn't work well. So then I layered this with a shimmering green polish (green gold shimmer in transparent jelly base) and the color turned to a brilliant shimmering green. Although it was not as bright as what the pic shows below, but I had to photograph it using flash as my camera refused to pick up the subtle hint of shimmer. 

Finally stamped it using M78 (fauxnad)  with Konad's special black.

How do you like it?
