Smokin Laces! : Lacey Nail Art

Whaddup Gals!

Me good as usual! I won a couple of nail art contest past few weeks.
One of them was from Inglot (India) and other one was Revlon (India). Yay!!
I won a Nail Art Pen from Inglot and I am yet to receive my Revlon gift. Will keep y'all updated.

In the meanwhile the weather here has turned slightly pleasant in the mornings and evenings. Not cold, no..but I am still eager to pull out my woolies and start wearing them. So maybe this is what I would call the "Fall Season" for Mumbai. Hehe!

Anywho coming back to the subject..I had got some of these gorgeous smokey shades from Revlon when they launched their new shades sometime back. You can see the other one here (Muse). This is the second one. I still have an untried from this buy, hopefully will put up soon.

Base: Revlon's Mischievous (455)
Its a creme smokey grey-purple. Nice creme finish, slightly streaky..but 2 coats made it fine and opaque. Took more than 5-8 mins to dry.

Stamping plate: Konad M71
Stamping Colour: Konad Pastel Pink

Love this dainty lacey stamp from Konad.
Goin off to enjoy the weather! Ciao!

*All products bought by me unless otherwise mentioned.

Sponging Nail Art: Using Lakme: Autumn Trend

Whew! For some strange reason google blocked my account yesterday! :O
Yes that can happen. I am not sure why but I had looged in using my hubby's pc and logged out. Again after half an hour I logged in using my pc and I got error saying my account is blocked due to some unusual activity. My only guess is google probably registered a change in IP address. So it blocked my account. Google please note that I log using whatever is at hand. My pc, His pc, My cell, His cell(s), mom's pc when I visit her..its a long list.  Please do not keep blocking for this. I had a mini heart attack yesterday when I couldnt see my blog.

*rant over* Coming on todays mani..

Sometimes I get these sudden strong urges to do sponging. And then I keep thinking about it all day and realize I just have to do it to get it out of my mind.

I decided to use an unused polish I had. Lakme Crimson Fire from the fast and fabulous range.
Its a true blue red. to read my review of these Fast and Fabulous polishes click here.

I sponged using Lakme Fast and Fabulous' Popping Pink at the nail base and OPI's Funkey Dunkey at the tips. Now Popping pink blendsreally nicely into Crimson Fire. If you look closely you can see a distinct pink hue at the nail base but its very difficult to make out where it starts and where it ends.
Applied SV for top coat.
Stamped it using: A Miss Claire Gold Polish
Stamping Plate: XL K

SV bubbled a bit :-/ But overall it was a very pleasant mani.
Instantly brightens up your hand.

If possible do leave a comment on how you like this. I know its not possible to comment on every blog you follow and every post you see. Maybe you could make my day today :)

Have a good week ahead!

Remember this song from Jaane Tu..Ya Jaane Naa..
"Hai Muscular, Hai Popular..Spectacular!!"..except this polish is Just Spectacular!
Reminds me of candy floss that would be sold in a fairy land.
Fluffy, light pink sprinkled with silver magic coins! Have a look!!

I goofed up on the stamping. The previous night I was thinking I'll stamp a nice lacey design on this..and bang! next morning I picked up this new plate and made different butterflies.
*dunno why* Plus this was an untested plate and some butterflies squished out *sad*
Base: Revlon Popular
Stamping Plate: XL K
Stamping Polish: Konad Black

I love this polish!! Do you?

Floam Swatch +Nail Art

You know how you really "really" want something in your life and sometimes you get it easy and sometimes you get it the hard way. But the hard somethings are to get, the sweeter the victory.
Yes, Floam was one such polish. I usually dont get so senti-"mental" about not having a polish, but since the first time I had seen swatches of this polish, I was like I have to "have" it. :D

One day my friend and an avid blog stalker Dhara asked me if I wanted anything from US as she had contacted Melissa a nail blogger at The Daily Nail Blog (do visit her blog, she is fab at nail art). Melissa works in India but was planning to go on a short visit back home to US. And she generously agreed to get us our fix of polishes. Though I tried to buy this polish from a webshop, it seemed quite unavailable at the moment. I then contacted the maker this awesome polish Amy from "I'm feeling Nail-venturous" (do check out her blog, she has loads of such fab polishes) and she happily agreed to make me some so Melissa could get them home to us. Thank you Amy and Melissa!!!
Postal delivery usually takes ages in my country with most of the times ending up in lost/stolen packages. Enough Rant. Had to get it out of my system.

So presenting: Floam

Floam is neon yellow, blue and green hex matt glitter in a clear base.
Its a little thick to apply but doesnt clump together. Above pic is coats of polish over a base of colorbar exclusive 18.

Dance of Floam in the bottle.

It gives an incredible depth to your nails, almost 3-D.

Base: Floam
Stamping Plate: Konad M83
Stamping Polish: Konad Black

Are you drooling over Floam?

Alternate Nails + Konad M83 Stamping Nail Art

Hi,
Hows your week so far? Mine is pretty boring except that I some of the stuff I had shopped earlier has reached me. Haul post coming up soon!! :D
Today's post is quite short.
So Enjoy the pics!!

Base: Golden-green Polish in Sandy-matt finish

Stamping Plate: Konad M83
Stamping Colour: Konad Pearl Blue and Red

I feel this design has more of an indian touch to it...something that is widely used in Indian textile printing. Quite suitable for marriage/functions with a metallic base as the one I used.

Ta-Da! Till I see you next! What have you been upto this week?

Maybe it should called quo-chrome?
I couldnt keep my hands still for 3 days..kept moving my fingers around to check whether is constantly showing the 2nd colour. hehe. I did catch my office neighbour staring at me doing that once.

The above and below pics clearly show 2 distinct shades!

Base: China Glaze Awakening
Stamping Plate: RA 119
Stamping Colour: Konad Black
Topped with Seche Vite Quick Dry

This polish is one of those that I won in StyleCraze'S giveaway that I wrote about here
This one makes to the list of my new favourites!!! ♥ ♥ ♥

China Glaze: Tantalize Me + Konad M82

Tantalize meeee!! Thats exactly what this polish does!!!!
LOL! Mentally okay!

Back In December I had Won Peaches and Blush giveaway sponsored by Stylecraze.com
Although I had won a blush and 3 orlys..most of the orlys I wanted were sold out. So Chetana (owner at Stylecraze) generously agreed to swap them for China Glaze which she had ordered to come.
China Glaze was not available in India then and Chetana tried her best to get them to India.
But..everything that could go wrong went wrong with her shipment..and she finally managed to get them in May! Promptly she sent me the list of shades available and me and my twitterati gal friends spent a whole day narrowing them down to three! Whew!! That was a hard job I tell u!! How can one choose 3 from all the fantabulous shades of China Glaze????
These are the three we finally selected and were promptly shipped to me. Thanks Chetana!!

First up is Tantalize Me!! It is one of the sweetest shades of pink-purple with a blue-ey pearl finish.
The bottle looked like it was duo-chrome..but doesnt show much on nails.
Opaque in 2 coats, slightly streaky..but really slightly. Lasted a good 5 days on me.

Base : China Glaze Tantalize Me
Stamping Plate:Konad M82
Stamping Polish: Konad Black

Aren't you Tantalized already??

Ethnic Indian Nail Art + Viviana Colour Ecstacy

I am outta town for a few days..and this is a scheduled post.
On my nails today is Viviana's Colour Ecstacy (or Esctasy? M always confused.
Its a creme polish in red-brown, brick colour.

Application was very smooth and dried fast in 5 mins. Goes Opaque in 2 coats.
Started chipping in 2 days though.
On its own this shade is not very attractive unless u intentionally match it with something on ur outfit/accessory. It looked a bit dull..very terracotta types. So I spruced it up with a bright yellow.

Base: Viviana Colour Esctacy
Stamping Polish: Konad yellow
Stamping Plate: Red Angel (RA) 102
Added dots in acrylic pearl blue using dotting tool

Does it look ethnic indian to you?
Some people told me it's ethnic looking (meaning gujju..LOL!)

Stamping Polishes: Non Konads

I did an experiment..*think: lab coat, big cold lab, and loads of polishes to splatter!!*
Bmwwahahahahahaha!
Yeah I had fun!! I have stamped most some polishes I have to check if they stamp well or no.
If some of these dont work for you..jus leave them open under a fan/open room for half an hour and try again. I have stamped them over a white page with black stripes of acrylic paint. For shades that wouldnt show over black..I have used Revlon's Top Speed polish as a base (pink).
You got any questions..pls leave a comment at the end of the post..and I'll answer.
To see my tutorial on Nail Art stamping: Click here

Colorama Black: Is slightly runny, but stamps decent, specially over bright colours
Colorama Dark Blue (Marinho): Its transparent, runny, doesnt show too well, but shows on white

Colobar 21 Mulberry: Too pale, doesnt show
Colobar 09 Icy Silver: Shows well on dark and bright colours
Colorbar 37 White: Shows well on dark..but not too well on bright..kinda ok ok

Colorbar: 18 (mint green): I'd give this a miss as a stamping polish

Lakme Metallics: 040 (gold) Shows well on dark and light colours..but maybe u'll need thick designs for this to show on light bases
Lakme 01 Color crush: This is slightly paler gold as compared to 040 Metallics..but stamps similar to it
Streetwear Golden Mirror 03: Stamps well too. Click here to see how it stamps on red
(Pls dont ask me why I have soo many golds..I still have another 3..in Non indian brands..I bought them all to test for stamping. I've heard the Konad Gold is not good.)

Lakme Metallics 241: This one is a bronze metallic. Shows well over white.. See this post
Lakme Twilight Mauve: Meh...If u ask me..give it a miss. However its a pretty base polish..click here

Lakme: D417 Freespirit from Manish Malhotra collection: Stamps really well over light bases

Streetwear Fuchsia Pink: This is similar to Konads Psyche Pink..kinda Meh...
Streetwear Violet Divine: Seems to show well on white and right bases, looks slight transparent..I m yet to use it as a stamping polish.(will update)
Streetwear Blue Bell: No no..no no..no no..unless u like pale blue on stark white

Revlon Top Speed: Mulberry 59: I like how it looks pastel pink on the white base
Lotus herbal: Cozy Mulberry: Nope..Doesnt work as stamping polish

Hope this helps.
