DuoChrome Mirror Nails using BornPretty Chameleon Pigment

I dont know if its just me or are more of you totally in love with the duochrome mirror finish pigments that have popped up in the nail art world. Believe me guys these are so much better than anything you've seen last year. Dont believe me? Have a look:

Base: DL glitter base Black

Pigment: BPS Top grade chameleon Glitter pigment in shade BRB20 (link) item #38616

Top coat: Oceans Beauty Top Pure (water based tc)

My thoughts on the pigment: The quality is superb! 

The pigment is super fine, opaque, no bald spots and no need to rub in much or anything. The shine and mirror like finish is incredible. I have take pics which reflected clouds and the whole building from across my house with nice detailing. The colour shift is simply very obvious and pleasant. You dont need to twist your hand at funny angles or squint. Its just there. I cant wait to try more of these pigments. You can use them with gel and water based polishes both. Since I frequently like to change my polish I used a peel off black base. I have also swatched this with a white base. The difference in is that the mirror effect goes a bit mild but the pink/purple colour in the transition shift was more visible. This pigment retails for $4.29 for 0.5gm which is very nicely priced as compared to other good quality pigments in the market. (link)

Shades of Wazowski

So who doesnt remember Mike Wazowski from Monster's Inc. A one eyed green spherical monster that everyone liked for being the best bud to Sulley. Dance Legend made a collection of duochrome polishes on these monsters and each is certainly desirable as the other.

Flash Tattoo Nail Art

Flash Tattoos have become such a rage. Easy to apply and takes practically no time to glam you up.

These go well on nails too. Got mine from www.chicaccessorizer.com for Rs.225/- a sheet (click link to flash tattoos). 

Instructions for the decals are given on the back of the sheet. Simply cut the desired part, apply on skin and dab it with wet cloth. I did the same on my nails and then applied a top coat so it stayed put.

Happy New Year!! Shiny Disco ball Nail Art

I know I have been a bit off and what not..Just wanna assure you I am very much here and this blog still means a lot to me.

A couple of things have made my life a bit busy..and the tragedy is when I had the time after I came back from a small break in end of december one of my vanity cabinets' lock got stuck. this one contains most of my polishes :-/ so now I am mostly polish-less exception of few stray bottles.

Coming back! this mani is the last one I had before the cabinet got locked.

I received this pack of glitter from Born Pretty Store for review. After seeing the glequins manis put up by Nailasaurus I couldnt resist having a shiny disco ball mani :D

The pot size is almost like those of the body shop lip balms and is packed with glitters. Make sure you close the windows and fan before you open this or you are bound to get it over you if u r even a teeny bit sloppy. 

The colours are gorgeous and I so wanted to use all in a day. Sequins are almost 2mm in length and in hex shape. helps cover your nails quickly.

Lovely dull gold to green duochrome given to me by my Blogger pal the lovely Caroline from GoodLackNail. She got a huge stash by the way of utterly gorgeous shades which I have a hard hard time finding..incl 2 HTF HOLOS!! :D Thanks again Caroline!!!

After the base I proceeded to turn the accent into a shiny disco ball. It was pretty easy.

Take a toothpick dip the tip into fevicol or similar PVA glue. Light touch a glequin with the tip and place on your nail. Took me 8 mins to do the whole nail.

its an unbranded duo-chrome polish I found on one of my trips.

Shimmery metallic kinda finish. Layered over black.

I wish someone made more of these with delicate/bold and all sorts of prints.

Pink Brown DuoChrome Nail Polish + BM 208 Nail Art

DuoChromes! 

Now these kind of polishes caused quite a frenzy, following the holo nail polish trend.

Duo Chrome: means they reflect a different shade in different angles of light.

I got this and a few others from a recent trip and now I know why this caused such a stir.

Can you see pink and golden-brown shimmer?

I have layered this on a dark brown base. And I have a feeling that this will show up differently on a black or dark purple base.

I tried hard but I couldnt capture the colour shift exactly..but the shades are pretty much close.

I was trying to capture when my entire nails looked only pink and only gold-brown. But you can still see different shades on each nail in the above pic
