Purple Gradient

Heres a nice gradient that I did using Picture Polish. The effect came out nice as if it was a thermal polish in-between it colour changing state.

Base: Picture Polish Grace

Sponged on with: PP Grace, Spring and Allure

For the Accent: I applied latex on the sides and sponged on the same polishes in reverse order

Then removed latex

All topped with hkgirl

Frozen Movie Nail Art ft. Olaf

Frozen Movie Nails!!

Did them for a niece's frozen themed birthday party. I was so excited to go to that..and good fun it was. Although I cant remember what polishes I used for the gradient base I topped them with kleancolor matter glitter (in I Do, Romeo) and freehanded Olaf using acrylics.

I love how goofy his grin turned out!

For the thumb I tried to stamp a snow flake, but the blue stamping polish was too goopy.

Glitter glitter everywhere!

Thats it!! I've jumped into the glitter bandwagon.

Ever since glitter polishes started appearing on blogs I've been drooling over them.

But then I also read that they were a pain to take out, which stopped me from trying them.

Also as I was packing for my rafting trip, I realised I wouldnt get time to polish my nails on the trip and I didnt wanna lug weight with me as I knew we'd have to carry our bags to the camp at the riverside.

So I had to put on a mani that wud last me atleast 5-6 days. This is my "eureka".

 Lasted me all of 6 days of which 4 days were spent rafting atleast 2-3 hours each day.

I had won the glitters from Canadian Nail Fanatic in her giveaway last year

I have applied the Icing glitter halfway down the nail and WnW Party of Five 1/3 rd way to the tip as I attempted a possible gradient effect.

Party of Five is a good dupe for Deborah Lippmann's gorgeous Happy Birthday.

Verdict: I would strongly recommend glitters to anyone who doesnt like to change their polishes often or to those who wanna save some bag space on a trip.

Gradient Nails!!

Good morning! Today I read on an friend's FB status: "When was the last time you did something for the first time." And I thought "now". Since my nails had grown long and though I am dying to try out one of the full nail designs from BM, I thought they might still fall short. So I decided  to try out gradient nails that I have seen on you tube and other blogs.

I used three colours in different shades of pink and one in magenta; applied using a piece of makeup sponge.

Started dabbing the lightest pink on one third of my nail and followed the same with darker ones. The third pink though I had to dab twice as it wasn't opaque enough. Lastly followed by magenta.

Finally I stamped the ring and thumb with butterfly on BM 222 in Konad special black and topped it of with a glitter top coat. Though this is my first trial using the sponge technique and I was very skeptical that it wouldn't come out neat...I must say I am quite happy with the result. What do you think?
