This plate has only full nail designs and lots of textures. it has many themes from florals, abstract, geometric and textures. The plate sells for $3.99 and even the fine lines and images print crisp and neat.

Fall Nail Art : Orange Plaid Nail Art

Hello! I am trying to be back to posting after a long break. Moved houses and kiddo appeared for 1st school exams, lots of work, tons of house warming parties and what not in between. So yeah been busy.

Starting with a fall mani today. Love these fall combos even though we dont get any fall season as such in Mumbai. The rains are thankfully over and the heat is already unbearable.

This very versatile plate (Nicole Diary L-04 #46229; link)  is from Nicole Diary brand from the Bornpretty website. This plate covers a lot of basic lines, patterns and chevrons for a very creative mani. I was looking since quite some time for a plate to make plaid designs using my own patterns and this plate helps me do just that. Most other plates already have a plaid pattern and you cannot make the plaid using different colours. The max you can do is add a couple of lines here and there on an existing basic plaid. But this gives you lots of rooms to play around with colours.

The plate sells for $3.29 and even the fine lines and images print crisp and neat.

Cupcake Apple-y Ever After

Been hunting for a red linear holo polish for a looong looong time (in peppa pig's accent; thats what you get when kiddo is hooked to peppa all day). Anyways I got a couple of red holos by now. You see I tend to go overboard with one lemming incase I dont find it again. Next on my list is a linear holo orange.

I need to add that though I did buy a bunch of plates from MDU I am not happy with the quality at all. They dont transfer well and when you rub off polish in between stamping the cotton seems to get stuck in tiny corners of the design. This is based on using a couple of plates now. so read a few reviews before you buy some (or more if you are trying to economise shipping costs like me)

BPS Gel stamping Polish - Waning Moon

I used to never do gel polish as I mostly need to change my polish every 2-3 days. But when I am travelling that doesnt work. I dont like to end up lugging around all my nail stuff plus mostly you dont get the time to sit and do manis. Thats when I got interested in gels and since then have gathered quite some gel stuff. Earlier I have done manis with normal stamping polish on gel but I was quite interested when I saw gel stamping polishes. I finally got around to trying one and its quite nice. 

Base: BPS 1 step gel 6051 (item # 40881-6051)

Stamping Polish: BP-GS03 Waning Moon (#45881)

Stamping plate: Nicole Diary Overprint plate L-03 (#46228)

The stamping polish is in shade Waning Moon. Its a very light gold and stamps really well. Pickup is much better than a regular stamping polish 😲

It comes sealed in a small round box priced at $2.59 after discount (link) and they have many colour options to choose from. I am really impressed how well they stamp as these are gel they do not dry off immediately like normal polish and so pick up is really good. If you do gel nails I'd definitely recommend using these instead of normal stamping polish. 

Born Pretty Overprint Plate L071

Since quite some time I had wanted to do a layered mani but didnt have a good plate. So when BPS sent me this layering plate L-071 I was quite pleased. This plate can be found by searching #45858 on the site or you can click this link. 

This plate retails for $2.99 and there are many combinations of natural leaves, trees, butterflies birds and flowers on the plate. It is very versatile in the sense you can layer 2-3 things on a nail to create depth and colour. Below I have tried a few combinations and swatched them on paper you give you an idea of how other images look like.

Born Pretty Rainbow Handle Holo Stamper

Hello Hello -wello! 

I love all things shiny and holo-ey! And when BPS came out with this stamper I had to have it in my collection. So I called for it as soon as I could. The stamper is available of the BPS site (#45934; link) 

The stamper body has a nice tapered cylindrical body which is easy to hold. The stamper head is medium soft. Not too squishy. It comes with option to have clear head or holo head. I choose the head with holo flakies in it. These flakies however do not bother the function of a transparent stamper; though one might have slight difficulty if trying to do layered stamping. Stamper retails for $2.99 and is a reasonable buy at this price.

As you can see below the image pick up is very sharp and crisp. 

Indian Brocade Nail Art

Recently a few plates have caught my eye again after a dull lull in the nail art world. One of them was this Nicole Diary L-03 from the born pretty store. The main draw is layered stamping or over print as they call it. I love stamping the most and the idea of getting a few colours to go in together and come out like a print is exciting to see. You can find this plate on the born pretty store here (link) and it retails for $2.99 after discount. You can also search for it by item no. 46228.

I tried to recreate a design like that seen on silk Indian brocade print. Usually such brocade sarees are worn during wedding seasons. They look really beautiful.

Base used is from Nugel called Candy Apple. Slightly sheer even after 2 coats as you can see the nail line yet. The formula was like jelly but not as sheer. I guess another coat would have covered it full. Dried to touch in 10 mins. And took another 10 mins to get fully dried. The formula is self levelling and easy to apply. So far most of the polishes I've tried have a nice formula.

Born Pretty 1 step Gel Polish

I had chosen a few 1-step gel polishes from Born Pretty Store for review as I was very intrigued to try them. I usually do gel manis when I travel or if there's a wedding with closer ties wherein I need to attend a few functions over the course of 2 weeks. And I get bored to doing gel base-cure-colour coat-cure-another coat-cure- nail art-top coat-cure. 😅 so was really keen to try these.

these are available on the site here (link) and you can also search for item no. 40881. They retail for $3.29 (after discount; original $3.99) for 5ml of gel polish. There are almost 40 shades available under this item. Some have shimmers and glitters as well. The shade I am reviewing here today is 6007. Its a cute blue-toned pink. Goes smooth. Took 2 coats for this. Needs only 30 secs to cure under led light. and doesnt need any base coat or top coat.

Really Pretty Polish!

BPS Chameleon Holographic Magnetic Polish Starry Star

Another much delayed review. I used this polish back in December but never got around to editing pics. This beauty is from Born Pretty Store (#43679; link ; starry star shade)

Its a holographic, magnetic and duochrome polish. 

Under direct Sun light

BPS recommends you use it over a black base polish so I did.

Base: Sally Hansen Black heart

As you can see the magnetic and holo effect are very strong. However unexpectedly the magnetic effect also has a very strong duochrome effect which I was pleasantly surprised with.

The polish dries fast and lasted on me for 4 days. I am totally in love with how it looked in direct light. All the things I love in one polish. This retails for $5.99 for 6ml after discount.

Nugel Nail Polish Swatch Traffic Blue

Today I have a swatch of Nugel Traffic blue

Nugel is a recently launched brand in India. Polishes retail for Rs.99-120/-. 

 Traffic blue is a very vibrant shade. Shown here is 3 thin coats. The polish applies smoothly and dries quite fast. It lasted on me for 4 days but then again it depends on your own chemistry.

I have used a few other shades from this brand and overall they are quite nice. I have seen some of their matt shades online too and they look pretty too. Might try those sometime. All in all its a good brand of polish and worth the doh. Lemme know if you try it.

Born Pretty Store Universe Series Stamping Polish

Hello Readers!

Today I have on the blog a beautiful stamping polish from Born pretty store for review.

This polish is from their universe series called Leo (#42851 Link) 

There are a total of 8 duochrome polishes in this series and the color shift is quite visible and strong.

It shows well over dark polish. Here you can see it is a very bronze gold color.

But when the angle shifts you can see it has a very prominent green/olive toned shade.

The polish is very opaque and stamps smoothly. It retails for $5.99 for 6ml bottle after discount (original price is $6.99).

Love stamping with this polish. Would like to try this with different base colours too.
